The Haldimand & Norfolk Work Group of Simcoe, or ABEL Enterprises, provides work and work-skills training opportunities for people with serious mental illness.

Services offered include:

- the opportunity to develop your own small business
- the opportunity to develop trade level skills in carpentry and custom made furniture production
- access to a collective marketing system
- part-time employment that pays above minimum wage
- the opportunity to sell items you make in our store, called "Our Place"

ACTT - Assertive Community Treatment Team

ACTT is a program developed to organize and deliver specialized and integrated community-based mental health services to persons with severe and persistent mental illness. ACTT multi-disciplinary team members consist of a Psychiatrist, Registered Nurses, and Social Workers.

The client's voluntary enrollment to the program is paramount.

Addiction Services - Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit

Addiction Services, Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit, is a community treatment program offering assessment, referral and outpatient counselling for individuals experiencing problems with gambling and substance use. Counselling is provided in individual and/or group formats.

Assistance is also available to family members and friends. Counsellors work collaboratively with other community resources, including the mental health system, to address comprehensive needs of clients. Referrals are accepted from a wide variety of sources. Self-referrals are welcome.

AMHS - Adult Mental Health Services

AMHS is a multi-disciplinary agency providing community based, client focused mental health care and services to adults with serious mental illness. Services include:

Assessment
Consultation
Treatment
Education
Support
Advocacy

AMHS is a team of psychiatric nurses, social workers, and psychiatrists who provide clinical services to adults age 16 and up. Treatment includes psychotherapy, group therapy, supportive counselling, and consultation with physicians and other mental health agencies and professionals.

AMHS also provides Specialized Geriatric Services to older adults who are experiencing mental health problems combined with age related difficulties.

CAST - Crisis Assessment and Support Team

The CAST program provides 24-hour mental health crisis services to individuals 16 years of age and older.

Based in the Norfolk General Hospital (Simcoe) and the Haldimand War Memorial Hospital (Dunnville) the Crisis Clinician, an experienced mental health professional, responds to telephone crisis calls. When required, face to face mental health assessments and short term crisis counselling are provided.

Where applicable, CAST will link people with community resources, support systems, and trained peer specialists.

Haldimand Norfolk Resource Centre

The vision of the Resource Centre is to enhance the self-sufficiency and quality of life in an informal, family-like atmosphere that would empower consumer/survivors through education, advocacy, peer support, social and recreational activities, and build the self-confidence and independence of consumer/survivors. The centre is a safe, friendly place where people can come for a visit, have a coffee, and/or participate in the programs and activities being offered.

True Experience is an adult community mental health program that provides housing and work skills training to people with psychiatric illness. The program is based out of Dunnville, Ontario.

The Housing Program includes Opportunity House, Apartment Program, and skills training for successful living

The Work Programs include lawn maintenance, snow removal, janitorial contracts, wood working, and piece work.
